Much like receiving a static shock from turning on a light or television, card readers experience the same shock or electrostatic discharge (ESD) which will shut down the card reader. This Static Electricity builds up during every swipe and is intensified in drier environments. During winter months and in typically dry climate areas this can be a serious issue as the card reader can only be restarted by a service technician.

The ESD Clean and Treatment Cards was developed in concert with card reader OEM’s. This product not only cleans the reader of built up dirt but will coat the magnetic stripe reading heads in order to inhibit the rapid build up of more static electricity. This complete two part package, when used as a consistent maintenance product, will keep your card readers performing as designed.
